શેડેડ પોલ ઇન્ડક્શન મોટર એ ફક્ત સ્વ-પ્રારંભ કરતી સિંગલ-ફેઝ ઇન્ડક્શન મોટર છે જેનો એક ધ્રુવ તાંબાની વીંટી દ્વારા છાંયો છે. તાંબાની વીંટીને શેડેડ રિંગ પણ કહેવામાં આવે છે. આ તાંબાની વીંટી મોટર માટે ગૌણ વિન્ડિંગ તરીકે કામ કરે છે. શેડ્ડ પોલ મોટર માત્ર એક ચોક્કસ દિશામાં ફરે છે, અને મોટરની વિપરીત ગતિ શક્ય નથી.
