ડિફરન્શિયલ પ્રોટેક્શન એ ટ્રાન્સફોર્મર્સ, જનરેટર અને મોટર્સ જેવી મશીનરીમાં ખામીઓને ઓળખવા અને અલગ કરવા માટે ઇલેક્ટ્રિકલ પાવર સિસ્ટમ્સ પર લાગુ કરવામાં આવતી એક પ્રકારની સુરક્ષા તકનીક છે. સાધનસામગ્રીના ટુકડામાં દાખલ થતા વર્તમાનની સરખામણી એ વિભેદક સુરક્ષાનો મૂળભૂત સિદ્ધાંત છે. જો નોંધપાત્ર તફાવત જોવા મળે છે, તો પ્રોટેક્શન સિસ્ટમ ખામીયુક્ત સાધનોને અલગ કરવા માટે બ્રેકરને ટ્રીપ કરે છે. વિભેદક સુરક્ષા સાધનોના નુકસાનના જોખમને ઘટાડવામાં મદદ કરે છે.

विभेदक सुरक्षा एक प्रकार की सुरक्षा तकनीक है जो ट्रांसफार्मर, जनरेटर और मोटर जैसी मशीनरी में दोषों की पहचान करने और उन्हें अलग करने के लिए विद्युत ऊर्जा प्रणालियों पर लागू की जाती है। उपकरण के एक टुकड़े में प्रवेश करने वाली धारा की उससे निकलने वाली धारा से तुलना करना विभेदक सुरक्षा का मूल सिद्धांत है। यदि पर्याप्त अंतर पाया जाता है, तो सुरक्षा प्रणाली ख़राब उपकरण को अलग करने के लिए ब्रेकर को ट्रिप करती है। विभेदक सुरक्षा उपकरण क्षति के जोखिम को कम करने में सहायता करती है।

Differential protection is a sort of protection technique applied to electrical power systems in order to identify and isolate defects in machinery like transformers, generators, and motors. Comparing the current entering a piece of equipment with the current leaving it is the basic principle of differential protection. If a substantial difference is found, the protection system trips the breaker to isolate the malfunctioning equipment. Differential protection assists in lowering the risk of equipment damage.
