જે સાધનો તેની તીવ્રતા જાણવા માટે વિદ્યુતપ્રવાહની ગરમીની અસરનો ઉપયોગ કરે છે આવા સાધનને ગરમ વાયર સાધન તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. તે સિદ્ધાંત પર કામ કરે છે કે વાયરની લંબાઈ તેના દ્વારા વહેતા પ્રવાહની ગરમીની અસરને કારણે વધે છે. હોટ વાયર ઇન્સ્ટ્રુમેન્ટનો ઉપયોગ એસી અને ડીસી કરંટ બંને માટે થાય છે.

ऐसे उपकरण जो वर्तमान के ताप प्रभाव का उपयोग अपने परिमाण को जानने के लिए करते हैं, इस प्रकार के उपकरण को गर्म तार उपकरण के रूप में जाना जाता है। यह इस सिद्धांत पर काम करता है कि तार की लंबाई उसके माध्यम से धारा प्रवाह के तापीय प्रभाव के कारण बढ़ जाती है। हॉट वायर इंस्ट्रूमेंट का उपयोग एसी और डीसी करंट दोनों के लिए किया जाता है।

The instruments which use the heating effect of the current for knowing their magnitude such type of instrument is known as the hot wire instrument. It works on the principle that the length of the wire increases because of the heating effect of the current flow through it. The hot wire instrument is used for both the AC and DC current.
