વિદ્યુત પ્રવાહ કે જે જીવંત વાહકમાંથી પૃથ્વી પર અજાણ્યા માર્ગ દ્વારા વહે છે તેને પૃથ્વી લિકેજ કહેવામાં આવે છે. તે તેમના નબળા ઇન્સ્યુલેશન વચ્ચે અથવા વ્યક્તિના શરીરમાંથી વહે છે અને વિદ્યુત આંચકાનું કારણ બની શકે છે. જો લિકેજ કરંટ માત્ર 30mA કરતાં વધી જાય તો વિદ્યુત આંચકાનું પરિણામ જીવલેણ સાબિત થઈ શકે છે. તેથી, જ્યારે આવા વર્તમાન લિકેજ મળી આવે ત્યારે પાવર સ્ત્રોતને ડિસ્કનેક્ટ કરવા માટે સંરક્ષણ ઉપકરણોનો ઉપયોગ કરવામાં આવે છે

विद्युत धारा जो जीवित चालक से अनजाने पथ से पृथ्वी की ओर प्रवाहित होती है, भू-रिसाव कहलाती है। यह उनके खराब इन्सुलेशन के बीच या किसी व्यक्ति के शरीर के माध्यम से बह सकता है और बिजली के झटके का कारण बन सकता है। बिजली के झटके का परिणाम घातक साबित हो सकता है अगर लीकेज करंट केवल 30mA से अधिक हो। इसलिए, इस तरह के वर्तमान रिसाव का पता चलने पर सुरक्षा उपकरणों का उपयोग बिजली स्रोत को डिस्कनेक्ट करने के लिए किया जाता है

The electrical current that flows from the live conductor to the earth through an unintended path is called earth leakage. It may flow between their poor insulation or through a person's body & cause electrical shock. The consequence of electrical shock may prove fatal if the leakage current exceeds the only 30mA. Therefore, protection devices are used to disconnect the power source when such current leakage is detected
