હોર્ન ગેપ એરેસ્ટર શું છે? ( What is the Horn Gap Arrester ? )

તેમાં ધાતુના બે શિંગડા છાંયેલા ટુકડાનો સમાવેશ થાય છે જે હવાના નાના અંતર દ્વારા અલગ કરવામાં આવે છે અને દરેક વાહક અને પૃથ્વી વચ્ચે શંટમાં જોડાયેલા હોય છે. બે ઇલેક્ટ્રોડ વચ્ચેનું અંતર એટલું છે કે રેખા અને પૃથ્વી વચ્ચેનો સામાન્ય વોલ્ટેજ ગેપને કૂદવા માટે અપૂરતો છે. પરંતુ અસામાન્ય ઉચ્ચ વોલ્ટેજ ગેપને તોડી નાખશે અને તેથી પૃથ્વી પર જવાનો માર્ગ શોધશે.

इसमें धातु के दो सींग वाले छायादार टुकड़े होते हैं जो एक छोटे वायु अंतराल से अलग होते हैं और प्रत्येक कंडक्टर और पृथ्वी के बीच शंट में जुड़े होते हैं। दो इलेक्ट्रोड के बीच की दूरी ऐसी है कि लाइन और पृथ्वी के बीच का सामान्य वोल्टेज अंतराल को पार करने के लिए अपर्याप्त है। लेकिन असामान्य उच्च वोल्टेज अंतर को तोड़ देगा और इसलिए पृथ्वी का रास्ता खोज लेगा।

English:-

It consists of two horns shaded piece of metal separated by a small air gap and connected in shunt between each conductor and earth. The distance between the two electrodes is such that the normal voltage between the line and earth is insufficient to jump the gap. But the abnormal high voltage will break the gap and so find a path to earth.
