શેલ-પ્રકારના ટ્રાન્સફોર્મરમાં, ટ્રાન્સફોર્મર કોર વિન્ડિંગ્સની આસપાસ હોય છે. લેમિનેશન E અને L આકારમાં કાપવામાં આવે છે. આ ટ્રાન્સફોર્મરનો ક્રોસ-સેક્શન લંબચોરસ આકારમાં છે. આ ટ્રાન્સફોર્મરમાં ડિસ્ક અથવા સેન્ડવીચ પ્રકારનો ઉપયોગ થાય છે.
